The article substantiates the conceptual foundations for the development of leadership qualities of self-employed individuals in the context of a transcendent economy shaped by transnationalization, the experience economy, digitalization, and the expansion of platform-based forms of employment. Leadership of self-employed individuals is interpreted not as a formal managerial function, but as an internal mechanism of self-governance, strategic autonomy, and professional resilience under conditions of increased uncertainty and economic instability.
A conceptual model for the development of leadership qualities of self-employed individuals is proposed, integrating the influence of the transcendent economic environment with internal mechanisms of self-leadership, self-motivation, self-regulation, and strategic thinking. The study systematizes key factors and manifestations of leadership development at the macro-, meso-, and micro-levels, and substantiates the role of symbolic and reputational capital management in enhancing the competitiveness of self-employed individuals.
The practical significance of the study lies in establishing a theoretical basis for the development of managerial instruments aimed at supporting the leadership potential of self-employed individuals in contemporary economic conditions. The proposed provisions may be applied in the design of professional development programs, self-employment support policies, and further applied research in the fields of leadership and human capital management. Keywords: strategic management, foreign economic activity, enterprise risk management (ERM), real options, network resilience, Ukraine, scenario modeling, sanctions, FX volatility, Incoterms.
