The article explores the theoretical and methodological principles, as well as the practical aspects, of developing a mechanism for managing the competitiveness of agri-food products under the conditions of dynamic transformation of the market environment, military risks, and deepening European integration processes. The feasibility of distinguishing between the concepts of managing the competitiveness of an enterprise and its products is substantiated, with the key object of managerial influence being the parameters governing the formation of consumer value and the product's quality characteristics.
The economic essence of the mechanism for managing the competitiveness of agri-food products is specified as an open, structurally ordered, integrated, and adaptive system of interconnected subjects, goals, principles, functions, methods, levers, tools, and resource support. The structural components of the mechanism are systematized and characterized as follows: target, subject-object, methodological, functional, resource, organizational, instrumental, information-analytical, and result-evaluation.
A structural and functional model of the mechanism has been developed, reflecting the interaction of the controlling and controlled subsystems, information support, the transformation of resource potential into tangible market advantages, as well as the action of cyclic feedback for timely monitoring and adjustment of management decisions.
A conceptual approach to building a mechanism has been proposed, based on combining a relatively stable basic structural and functional core with a variable contour of modern components (digital, innovative, environmental, logistical, institutional, resilient, inclusive, integrative, and social). It has been proven that such an approach enables the prompt integration of the latest drivers in the market environment without compromising the system's basic architecture.
The practical significance of the results lies in the ability to flexibly adjust the proposed mechanism to the specifics of different agricultural products, production scales, value chains, and target market conditions.
