Abstract

The article examines the implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) principles in the agricultural sector with a focus on the role of state regulation. The purpose of the study is to substantiate theoretical and methodological foundations of CSR and define public regulatory instruments of its principles implementation in agribusiness.

The research employs methods of scientific generalization, system analysis, comparison, and statistical analysis. The essence and components of CSR are defined, including economic, legal, ethical, and philanthropic aspects, and their specific features in the agricultural sector. The study substantiates the importance of state regulation in promoting socially responsible behaviour of agricultural enterprises, ensuring compliance with legal norms, and encouraging sustainable practices.

The results indicate that CSR implementation in the agricultural sector remains uneven and largely depends on enterprise scale and institutional conditions. State regulation plays a crucial role in shaping incentives, ensuring transparency, and fostering stakeholder engagement. The scientific novelty of the research lies in a comprehensive approach to defining the role of state regulation in the implementation of CSR principles in agribusiness. The practical significance of the results includes the possibility of applying the article’s findings to the elaboration of public policies and to improving management strategies to implement the principles of CSR in agricultural enterprises.

Prospects for further research include the empirical assessment of the effectiveness of the proposed state regulation instruments, the development of models for agricultural enterprises’ reporting, and the analysis of the impact of CSR on agribusiness competitiveness in the post-war period.
