Abstract

The article conducts a comprehensive study of the theoretical, methodological, and applied aspects of managing an enterprise’s innovation potential as a fundamental element and strategic resource within the system of ensuring its economic security. The relevance of the study is driven by the high level of dynamism in the modern economic environment, the intensification of technological competition, and the growing uncertainty of economic processes, which requires domestic enterprises to seek new tools for maintaining stability.

The study synthesizes scientific approaches to interpreting the essence of innovation potential, defined as an integrated characteristic of an enterprise’s ability to form, accumulate, and effectively use resources for generating and implementing innovations. Its internal structure is detailed, including human resources, financial, scientific and technological, informational, and organizational components, the coordinated development of which creates the foundation for strategic progress.

The conceptual position is substantiated that the level of innovation potential development directly correlates with a business entity’s ability to counteract internal and external threats. It is proven that innovative activity not only ensures production modernization but also strengthens the enterprise’s technological independence and adaptability to market fluctuations. A system of evaluation indicators (resource-based, organizational, and process-based) has been defined, allowing for monitoring the state of the innovation system and identifying risk zones.

An original conceptual approach to integrating innovation potential management into the overall economic security system of the enterprise is proposed. The developed model is based on a cyclical mechanism covering stages from strategic planning to controlling the effectiveness of innovative projects, ensuring synergy between the innovation strategy and security goals. The practical significance of the results lies in the possibility of using the proposed approaches to increase competitiveness and form long-term economic stability of enterprises under conditions of instability.
