ANALYTICAL STUDY OF INDICATORS OF THE FUNCTIONING OF THE IT SECTOR IN UKRAINE IN THE CONDITIONS OF DIGITALIZATION

Abstract

The article is devoted to an analytical study of indicators of the IT sector's functioning in Ukraine in the context of digitalization. It has been established that the introduction of information technologies into people's lives and the country's economy has increased interest in the IT sector as an essential component of the national economy. A vital research task has been set and completed to assess the IT sector's functioning in Ukraine and identify factors that can positively influence its development. To solve the problem, dynamic and structural analyses, along with the method of systematization, have been used. The results of the study of the dynamics of the number of operating business entities in the IT sector are presented, according to which, based on the values of growth coefficients, average annual growth and average annual growth rate, a conclusion is made about the superiority of the number of business entities operating in the service sector over the number of those operating in the production sector. Based on statistical data for 2010-2024, it is evident that the IT sector in Ukraine has been demonstrating relatively stable results in recent years, despite challenges posed by domestic realities. Indicators of the IT sector's significance in the national economy are calculated, and the profitability of enterprises engaged in IT-related activities is analyzed. Based on the results, conclusions were drawn regarding significant fluctuations in profitability indicators for IT sector enterprises across various types of activity. It was shown that most IT sector activities were profitable, with profitability in most cases exceeding the country's overall average. Factors contributing to the development of the IT sector in Ukraine include many highly qualified IT specialists, the priority of knowledge and professional development, the use of flexible project management methodologies by IT companies, and the corporate culture of domestic IT companies. Specific factors related to the impact of digitalization on the development of the IT sector were identified. Prospects for further research in the chosen direction were outlined.
