Abstract

The article analyzed the different approaches of domestic and foreign scientists to the definition of the concept of "lean production" and proposed its own definition based on the analysis. The conducted analysis also made it possible to determine that currently, among the totality of views of foreign and domestic scientists and practitioners, there is no clear understanding and systematization of knowledge regarding the concept, methods, tools, principles that form the concept of lean production and the mechanism of its implementation in practice. The basic provisions of the concept of lean production, which are the basis for the development of the structure of the management system of a lean enterprise from the standpoint of a system-structural approach, have been studied. This system consists of two subsystems: formation and functioning. As part of the formation subsystem, system-forming elements of thrift enterprise management were developed: the main goal of thrift enterprise management, the subject and object of management, target orientations, basic principles, tools and prerequisites for implementation. As part of the functioning subsystem, the process of implementing lean production at the enterprise was developed and the description of its main stages was provided. The article also analyzes the practical experience of implementing the approach of lean production, accumulated today by both foreign and domestic enterprises, on the basis of which the main advantages of implementing Lean technologies in the activities of enterprises are indicated. Also, the conditions for ensuring the success of the introduction of lean production at domestic enterprises have been developed. Implementation of the concept of lean production by representatives of domestic business will provide an opportunity to become more productive and competitive through continuous improvement and contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals.
