This paper examines the fundamental security basis of digitalization in the intelligence activities of economic entities, emphasizing both positive externalities and the efficiency of ensuring protection in the digital environment. The study analyzes the conceptual framework and classification tools of digitalization, highlighting two key aspects of digital maturity: digitization and digital transformation. The authors argue that digitalization not only enhances business efficiency and economic security but also introduces new risks, such as cybersecurity threats, illegal economic activities, and loss of information control. Based on systemic analysis, the paper identifies the main means of ensuring security for business entities during digital transformation and outlines the primary forms of digitalization implementation at the national level.
Special attention is paid to the wartime context, in which security challenges intensify, requiring enterprises to adopt advanced digital tools for maintaining resilience. The study demonstrates that digitalization provides flexibility, rapid adaptability, and personalization, which are critical for strengthening competitiveness, but at the same time necessitates effective legal, organizational, and technical safeguards. Practical aspects include the use of digital platforms, ERP systems, e-government technologies, and innovative IT tools that enable efficient information exchange, workflow optimization, cost reduction, and improvement of decision-making processes.
The research underscores the importance of integrating international experience and best practices into Ukraine’s economic security framework, especially in the field of intelligence activities. Recommendations focus on developing public-private partnerships, advancing IT infrastructure, and implementing monitoring systems for digital innovations. The authors conclude that safe and systematic digital transformation creates synergistic effects, enhances innovation capacity, and ensures sustainable development of economic entities. Future studies should address the design of integrated models for secure digitalization in order to strengthen resilience against emerging risks and to improve economic performance in dynamic and uncertain environments.
