DEVELOPMENT OF THE IT-SECTOR IN UKRAINE AS A PRODUCER OF TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR DIGITIZATION OF BUSINESS STRUCTURES

Abstract

The aim of the article is to study the ability of the domestic IT sector to develop products for the effective digitalization of business structures, taking into account their industry specifics and modern management practices. It is argued that this requires a separate analysis of the dynamics of the development of two components of the IT sector: software production and the provision of services using information technologies. The analysis showed that the dynamics of software development was somewhat higher than the dynamics of the provision of information support services for business activities. It is assumed that this is due to the fact that many Ukrainian software developers worked on outsourcing, fulfilling orders from foreign companies. With the advent of artificial intelligence, the demand for these services has decreased significantly, which has worsened the performance of Ukrainian developers. Other external factors have also become acute, which are systematized with the allocation of the content and consequences of their impact on the activities of the IT sector. It is emphasized that they have worsened the activities of outsourced developers to a greater extent. At the same time, the services of information technology developers have become more in demand. The activities of those IT companies that have gained recognition in the global market and achieved the status of "unicorns" are characterized. Taking into account the growing needs of modern business structures in increasing operational efficiency, information technologies developed by Ukrainian companies that contribute to solving these issues in various functional areas of activity are considered. The emphasis is on the prospects of such developments and their mutual usefulness for the development of both the IT sphere and other industry groups of business activity.
