STANDARDIZATION AS AN ELEMENT OF QUALITY AND COMPETITIVENESS PRODUCTS IN THE MECHANISM OF THEIR SUPPLY

Abstract

Every year, consumer demands for product quality become stricter, which stimulates the development of competition among product manufacturers, including due to the improvement of quality parameters and the increase in the competitiveness of their own products. Ukraine's desire to integrate into international economic structures obliges it to adapt domestic production to the norms and standards of the relevant markets, which can be achieved only through the use of modern tools for managing product quality and competitiveness. In the mechanism of forming and improving the quality and competitiveness of the products of enterprises, the concept of standardization should be clearly distinguished as a significant element of bringing the quality characteristics of products to the requirements of the standards on which society is oriented.

The article highlights the main stages of the evolutionary development of standardization in the context of the spread of globalization processes in the world. It was revealed that the development of standardization was actualized together with the technical improvement of life in human society. The interrelationship of standardization and innovations led to the economic development of all economic sectors. The main stages of formation and development of standardization in Ukraine are highlighted. The positive and negative points associated with the introduction of international standards in the practice of economic activity of domestic enterprises and their impact on product quality are analyzed. The evolution of ISO standards regarding product quality management is characterized. The role of standardization in the regulatory and methodological provision of the mechanism of formation and improvement of the quality and competitiveness of the products of enterprises is highlighted

Analyzing the purpose of standardization in Ukraine, we come to the conclusion that it is the organizational and technical basis of all types of activities both at the national and international levels. The strengthening of scientific, technical and economic ties draws attention to the standardization of all developed countries of the world and developing countries, as well as technical, economic, international, regional and national organizations, firms and enterprises. This is a consequence of the objective need for standardization and technical regulation in the management of economic and production processes. That is, standardization tends to increase competition and lower production and sales costs. Standardization can maintain and improve quality, provide information and ensure interoperability, thereby ensuring safety and value for consumers. Standardization is an important key element of regulatory and methodological support of the mechanism of formation and improvement of the quality and competitiveness of enterprise products.
