The article examines the current challenges of Ukraine's customs security and identifies strategic directions for its improvement. It emphasizes the importance of customs security as a critically important component of national security, which ensures the protection of the country's economic interests, reduces smuggling rates, and combats terrorism and other transnational threats. In the modern context of globalization and internationalization of the economy, the significance of customs security has greatly increased. The effective functioning of customs authorities, analysis, and control of customs security indicators are crucial for ensuring the stability and national and economic security of the state. The article provides an analysis of research and publications on the problems of customs security in Ukraine, highlights the main theoretical and methodological aspects of this category, and outlines its role in the national security system of Ukraine. The author examines the current state of Ukraine's customs security, identifies the main challenges facing customs authorities, and offers practical recommendations for improving the efficiency of the customs system.
The main challenges affecting Ukraine's customs security are identified as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The article emphasizes the need for legislative regulation of the state's customs interests and the integration of customs security into the overall system of economic and national security. The author also highlights the importance of the interconnection between customs security and financial and foreign economic security.
