Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the potential, prospects, problems, and risks of the formation in Ukraine of local microgrids of renewable energy generation based on digital platforms. The specifics of digital platforms as an innovative institutional form and business model that radically changes the market environment are revealed. The conflicting consequences of the active installation of renewable energy generation equipment by households and small non-household consumers are shown. The positive role of local microgrids of renewable energy generation as an effective tool for ensuring the energy security of local communities and minimizing the risks of energy system imbalance is substantiated. The role of the cross-subsidization effect on digital platforms as a market tool for stimulating the development of renewable energy generation, which complements the "green" tariff and the Net billing mechanism, is revealed. An overview of publications on the problems of the development of microgrids of renewable generation is presented. The challenges facing the economic system as a whole and the energy sector, in particular, in the process of transformation of the economic environment and in the conditions of the crisis caused by Russia's military aggression, are characterized. Among them are the growing importance of data as a key factor in production, the spread of network production structures, the transformation of ownership relations, reindustrialization and the transition to Industry 4.0 and 5.0 models, the dominance of digital platforms, and the transformation of competitive relations. The tasks facing the energy industry are revealed.
