IMPACT OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ON THE ACHIEVEMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL GOALS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF UKRAINE

Abstract

It was established that digital transformation is a component of social progress, a driver of economic development, which changes the activity models of people, organizations, territorial communities, regions, and the country; causes the emergence, development and modernization of various technologies (artificial intelligence, electronic government, digitalization of medical and social spheres, IT systems of environmental monitoring, etc.). It is argued that digital transformation enables social development and promotes quantitative and qualitative transformations in various spheres of activity. Emphasis is placed on the essential content and forms of digital transformation in the management of sustainable development. It has been proven that digital transformation allows enterprises, industries and sectors of the economy to obtain economic, social, environmental, image and other effects. The common digital future of Ukraine and the EU and its role in the process of a double transition (green and digital) are emphasized. Individual results of our state's activities in the context of achieving common goals of the EU and Ukraine in the context of managing sustainable development during 2022-2023 are presented.

It is argued that the use of digital technologies in the management of sustainable development in general and in achieving environmental goals in particular is an objective prerequisite for ensuring digital environmental sustainability of the economy. The reasons that indicate the relationship between digital transformation and environmental management are systematized. It is emphasized that there are certain aspects of the negative impact of digital transformation on the environment, which increases the importance of the environmental component of sustainable development management. It is argued that the digital transformation extends to society, as it led to the emergence of social networks, which can be used as an effective tool for the formation of an innovative environmental culture and strengthening the role of the public sector in managing the sustainable development of the national economy. The use of GPI digital technologies will allow stakeholders to focus on environmental issues; add systematicity to the sustainable development management process; to speed up the implementation of scientifically based measures regarding the greening of both production and management activities. Under such conditions, the question arises of the effective use of digital technologies in the management of sustainable development, which, working "at the input" with the available resource potential, environmental imbalances will allow to obtain the resource "at the output" - "sustainable development of the state, its regions and territorial communities." It was emphasized that thanks to the latest digital technologies (artificial intelligence, robotics, Internet of Things, circular economy, advanced processing, big data and analytics, decomposition technologies, blockchain, eco-development) it is possible to improve sustainable development management processes, ensure better availability of information, efficient use of resources and increase public participation in decision-making, ensure a green transition of the economy to a more environmentally sustainable way of development.
