The article examines trends in consumption and production of poultry products in regional markets. A comparison of production and consumption volumes in natural units in Ukraine as a whole shows the presence of overproduction, which indicates that poultry enterprises produce products not only for the domestic market, but also for export. When researching market shares, three leading regions are clearly visible, several times ahead of other regions. At the same time, all years in a row, the largest share of production fell on the Vinnytsia region, on the second city - Cherkasy region, on the third city - Dnipropetrovsk region.
Ukraine's export opportunities for offering poultry products on foreign markets are characterized. A high dependence of the volume of production of poultry products on the share of products manufactured for export was established. Research results showed that both production and consumption of products in individual regions have significant disproportions depending on the region. The volume of production of poultry products is closely related to the volume of sales of poultry products on foreign markets, as the share of exported products has increased significantly in recent years.
The consumption of poultry products per person in most regions is significantly lower than the volume of its production. In such regions as Vinnytsia and Cherkasy, production of poultry meat actually exceeds consumption by 10 times, in other regions such as Luhansk, Odesa. In Donetsk, the level of poultry meat production per person is unreasonably low.
Ukraine's opportunities for further development of both regional markets for poultry products and strengthening of competitive positions in foreign markets are characterized.
The directions and prospects for the development of regional markets of poultry products are determined: growing demand for poultry products; continuation of assistance to local farms; development of alternative types of poultry farming; improvement of product quality; innovations and technological development; activation of the consumption of poultry products due to an increase in the socio-economic level of development of the regions.
