INCREASING THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE ECONOMY AS A COMPONENT OF INTEGRATION INTO THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC SYSTEM

The purpose of the article is to study the competitiveness of the economy and factors of its development in the dynamic world economic system. The article examines the theoretical foundations of economic competitiveness in the conditions of integration into the global economic system. Social development of countries today is formed under the influence of globalization shifts and processes of economic integration. Competitiveness of the national economy (national competitiveness) is a set of conditions that favorably affect the creation of competitive products and contribute to the prosperity of competitive companies.
It has been proven that a decisive condition for achieving a high level of the country's competitiveness is a strong state with a formed and developed market and industry structure, high business activity of entrepreneurs, qualified specialists and advanced scientific potential. Qualitative changes inherent in the world economy at the current stage of its functioning by their nature, scale and depth transform the resource-technological basis of the development of national economic systems in a global format and create prerequisites for the search for their new contours and effective models in the context of the latest paradigm of globalization.
It was determined that increasing the competitiveness of the economy and transitioning to an innovative path of development is a key task of the state economic policy. The competitiveness of the national economy is of great practical importance for improving the competitive advantages of each country, namely: the development of exports in the short and long term, the acquisition of a certain authority in the international environment, the level of competitiveness, the predominant areas of production and services. The international competitiveness of a country is the possession of certain properties and capabilities that allow the state to develop in the field of innovation and have an advantage in global competition. The assessment of Ukraine's competitive positions according to traditional groups of criteria (technological, institutional and macroeconomic) reflects its ranking position, and only partially reveals the national potential.
