The article describes the provision of sustainable rural development on the basis of regional economic growth and strengthening state support for the rural economy, which will slow down depopulation and stabilize the demographic situation in rural areas, increase employment of able-bodied rural residents, reduce the share of rural population below the subsistence level., to modernize the social infrastructure, to improve the access of peasants to public services and to increase the level of improvement of rural settlements.
It is proved that rural regions are characterized by narrow interconnections of industries, low population density, lower degree of socio — economic development, a small set of types of work, great professional and social homogeneity of the population. Thus, a rural area is a terrestrial space outside urban areas, inhabited by people and characterized by the commonality of any features.
It is shown that the development of any territory is subject to a combination of two principles: functional compliance, which involves the use of land depending on their internal natural properties and resource value, and the second principle – positionality, which assumes the spatial position of land relative to other natural and anthropogenic objects. socio-economic situation. According to these principles, there is a territorial division into rural areas (rural areas) and highly urbanized industrial zones.
It is analyzed that one of the main tasks is to overcome departmental disunity in rural management and strengthen coordination in ensuring rural development between: ministries and departments; state, regional and local authorities; state and local government bodies, public and commercial organizations, business facilities and the population.
It was revealed that the main problems of rural development are unstable working conditions and organization, low living conditions, unstable material security, poor housing conditions, declining engineering infrastructure, which creates preconditions for growing migration potential of rural residents and unsustainable rural development.
