The article is dedicated to the identification of promising areas of innovative development of territories in modern conditions. The relevance of the research is due to the fact that today innovative development is decisive for increasing the competitiveness of the economy at the state and regional levels. The transition to a new innovative model of territorial development will allow to ensure the sustainable development of the economy, taking into account and using its existing potential, and will contribute to the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. At the current stage of social development, solving issues related to the balancing of regional growth requires the development and implementation of modern technologies and organizational solutions on an innovative basis into production processes. Solving urgent needs to ensure the livelihood of the population and the production process requires new approaches and technologies that are based on the principles of energy conservation, ecological production and resource efficiency. It was determined that the main factors affecting the innovative development of territories are: normative-legal, organizational-management, financial-economic, technical-technological, environmental, social and informational factors. The outlined factors contribute to activation and stimulation of innovative development of territories. An important aspect is the identification of latent potential opportunities for the innovative development of territories. Technological innovations are one of the main factors that ensure the development of regions and the country as a whole in the long term. The main directions of promoting the innovative development of territories include: infrastructure development, education and science, business support, financial support for the innovative development of territories, technological parks and incubators, environmental innovations, regulatory and political measures, cultural and social aspects. The effectiveness of regional policy and the competitiveness of regions depend on how successfully the motivational environment is formed by business entities to activate the processes of creation and implementation of innovations.
